Student Volunteer Program

Earn Meagan McCain Memorial Scholarships by serving as a Student Volunteer at the 12th Annual Meagan McCain Memorial Barrel Race in August.  Only 10 Student Volunteers will be accepted in 2022 and the deadline for applying is July 1, 2022.  Get your application in today for a chance to earn between $250 and $2,500 in scholarships!

Piedmont Education Trust

The Piedmont Education Trust awards scholarships to graduating seniors of Piedmont High School (Piedmont, AL) in the spring each year.  Meagan McCain Memorial scholarships have been awarded by PET since 2011.  Seniors may apply for the MMM scholarship with the guidance counselor at PHS.

Recipients:

  • 2022: $1,000 each to Cayla Parris, Anna Grace Barber, Emilee Lynn Parris and Caylin Grace McElroy

  • 2021: $1,000 each to four seniors

  • 2020: $1,000 each to four seniors

  • 2019: $1,000 each to four seniors

  • 2018: $1,000 each to four seniors

  • 2017: $1,000 each to Rachel Baggett, Cherish Boswell, Shane McCord and Jakieya Mitchell

  • 2016: $1,000 each to Sadie Daugherty, Keshauna Jones, Kathryn Lusk and Kinsey Martin

  • 2015: $1,000 each to Jeremiah Screven and Tyler Lusk

  • 2014: $1,000 each to Morgan Watkins and Linda Feazell

  • 2013: $1,000 each to Dillon Terry and Cass McCord

  • 2012: $1,000 each to Christina Mitchell and Addie Minton

  • 2011: $2,000 to Hilarie Hincy

 

Georgia High School Rodeo Association

Georgia High School Rodeo Association awards scholarships to graduating seniors at the GHSFR in June each year.  The first Meagan McCain Memorial Scholarship was awarded in 2010.  Members of the GHSRA may apply for scholarships in the spring of their senior year by submitting an application to the scholarship committee.

Recipients:

  • 2016: $1,000 each to Alex Edmondson, Jake Wells, Lexi Ragsdale, Savannah Hulings

  • 2015: $1,000 each to Andrew Bryan, Collett Halik, Kaylyn Shelton and Lexie Jacobs

  • 2014: $1,000 each to Shelby Ray Harvard, Sarah Huggins, Jack Peeples, and Tyler Thornton

  • 2013: $1,300 each to LeeAnn Johnson, Ashley Whitaker and Tyler Smith

  • 2012: $1,000 each to Crystal Moffat and Sara St Clair

  • 2011: $750 each to Candace Adams, Taylor King, Cody Peeler and Hilton Peeples

  • 2010: $1,000 to Mary Gentry

 

National High School Rodeo Foundation

The National High School Rodeo Foundation awards scholarships to graduating senior at the annual Senior awards banquet during the National High School Finals Rodeo.  Meagan McCain Memorial Scholarships have been awarded each year since 2010.  NHSRA members may apply for scholarships in the spring of their senior year by submitting an application to their state scholarship committee.

  • 2015: $1,000 each to Cole Lickley, Courtney Mulford and Derek Wadsworth

  • 2014: $1,000 each to Cole Peterson, MaKayla Jacobs and Ashleigh Baugh

  • 2013: $1,000 each to Cord Barriklow, Tess Turk and Anna Burton

  • 2012: $1,000 each to Trevor Norris, Jessica Stewart and Jed Davison

  • 2011: $1,000 each to Chelsey Pulcheon, Kelsey Driggers and Keely Weger

  • 2010: $1,000 each to Kathrine Hutson and Pearce Sloan

 

Mesalands Community College

Meslands Community College in Tucumcari, NM awards scholarships to members of the Mesalands rodeo team in the spring and the fall.  The first Meagan McCain Memorial Scholarship was awarded in 2010.  Mesalands students may apply for the scholarship at the MCC Financial Aid Office.

Recipients:

  • 2014-2015: No scholarships were awarded

  • 2013-2014: Betty Pack

  • 2012-2013: Bailey Bates, Kelbee Cheeney, Emily Woolbright and Shelby Rita

  • 2011-2012: Rebecca Alden, Shelby Rita and Emily Woolbright

  • 2010-2011: Rachelle Carlo
